For the Support of Natural Gas Programs & Scholarships

Eligibility: Applicant must be an employee or the dependent of an employee of a member company of Alabama Natural Gas Association; part-time or full-time undergraduate or graduate student, either currently enrolled or accepted for admission to the University of Alabama; be an Alabama resident; demonstrate academic excellence; exhibit outstanding leadership qualities and establish financial need (not as necessarily as defined by Federal guidelines); preference will be given to students who are taking courses facilitated through the College of Continuing Studies.

General Guidelines

The 2020 – 2021 scholarship application will be available from March 1 through December 1, 2020. You must be currently enrolled or accepted for admission to the University to submit the application.

Please note that the application should be completed and submitted online through myBama. After you log in, click the Admissions/Scholarships link, located in the menu bar on the left side of the screen. To the immediate right of the menu bar is the Scholarships pane. Under the All Graduate/Undergraduate Students subheading, click the Continuing Studies Scholarship Application link to proceed to the online form.

Applications are reviewed in intervals to make scholarship awards for fall, spring, and summer, or until funds have been exhausted. You should submit one (1) application only, per award year, for consideration for all distance learning scholarships.

Award notifications will be sent according to the following schedule:

  • Fall 2020 award notifications will be sent in late July 2020
  • Spring 2021 award notifications will be sent in late November 2020 and
  • Summer 2021 award notifications will be sent in early March 2021

All scholarship-related correspondence will be sent to your Crimson email account.

If you select one of the Special Category scholarships, you should provide proof of applicable company or organization affiliation. Acceptable forms of documentation may include an employee ID, written certification on company letterhead, or other related documents. Special Category scholarships are marked with an asterisk (*). Please note that scholarships not marked with an asterisk do not require supporting documentation. Please refer to the scholarships listing for eligibility criteria.
